On a national level, amateur radio stations are licensed by the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg). In order to obtain a licence, applicants must study for and pass a formal regulatory examination.

The National Radio Society of Ireland tutors run ten training centers spread out across the country, for the provision of classes and tuition to anyone interested in becoming licenced as a radio operator.

In addition to the above, a number of our training courses can be made available to members online through the MyHam Network portal.
